The logbook is for anything: a thought you had on the bus, a review of a game nobody remembers, a long essay, a list of links. Each entry is one Markdown file. The file name starts with the date, and the rest becomes the address, so this one lives at
/log/hello-world/
.

Entries get a few old-forum touches for free:

a size in bytes, like a file listing

an optional mood and listening to line, LiveJournal style

tags, each with its own page

a blinking NEW badge for the first two weeks

New entries also go out on the Atom feed automatically.

A smaller heading

A quote block. Good for quoting someone, or yourself from three years ago.

A bulleted list

with a few items

and a nested one

and back out

A numbered list

counts by itself

even if you forget the numbers

C:\> echo code blocks keep their spacing
code blocks keep their spacing

Images work too. Put the file in
public/img/
and point at it:

And because this is the old web, raw HTML passes straight through. Here's a scrolling banner that pauses when you hover it, and holds still for anyone who turned motion off:

this text scrolls like it's 1999. hover to make it stop.

1. Make a file in
content/posts/
named with today's date and a few words:

content/posts/2026-11-02-a-short-title.md

2. Write the entry. The part between the
---
lines is the settings block. Everything after it is your post, in plain Markdown:

---
title: A short title
date: 2026-11-02 22:15
tags: [music, late-night]
mood: optional
music: optional

Your words go here.

Add
draft: true
to keep an entry off the live site while you work on it.

3. Publish. If the site is connected to GitHub, commit the file and Cloudflare rebuilds the site in about a minute. Otherwise run
npm run build
and upload the
dist
folder. The README has both routes.
